Get more from Json to Schema
Json to Schema converts JSON sample data to a selected schema format. The tool infers schema fields from the values and structure visible in a sample. Inference provides a useful starting point, but one sample cannot describe every valid future record. Choose the intended destination: JSON Schema, MySQL DDL, Mongoose, BigQuery, and ClickHouse do not share identical type systems or validation rules. Include null values, empty collections, optional fields, and several representative records when reviewing the inferred structure. Compile or validate the generated draft in the target project. Use the worked example to understand what a successful result looks like, then compare it with a small sample of your own input. Keep the original available until you have checked the output in its destination. Conversion establishes a representation; it does not establish that the underlying information is correct or that the receiving application accepts every supported feature.

How to use this tool
- Enter or load JSON sample data using the input controls. Begin with the worked example or a small sample for which you know the expected result.
- Review any available conversion options, then inspect the a selected schema format result. Resolve a reported parse error at its source before attempting to reuse the output.
- Check the example below against your own data. Include null values, empty collections, optional fields, and several representative records when reviewing the inferred structure. Compile or validate the generated draft in the target project.
- Copy or save the resulting a selected schema format content using the controls provided, then validate it in the application or parser that will actually consume it.
SEE IT IN PRACTICE
A worked example
{"name":"Ada","score":10,"active":true}A schema describing name as a string, score as a number, and active as a boolean
The example supplies a string, a number, and a boolean. These give the generator evidence for three different schema fields; exact names and formatting follow the tool options.
Examples do not imply every constraint
The presence of a name property in one document does not prove it is required, and one short string does not establish a maximum length. Allowed values, uniqueness, ranges, and relationship constraints usually come from the application contract. Inspect generated schema defaults carefully. A schema that validates its training example can still reject legitimate records or accept invalid ones if those constraints are guessed.
Choose a schema for its consumer
JSON Schema validates JSON structure; a Mongoose schema controls a model layer; BigQuery and ClickHouse schemas describe database fields; MySQL DDL describes relational tables. These outputs are not equivalent spellings of one universal schema. Select the actual consumer, then review its native types, nullable behavior, nested-field representation, and naming rules. Constraints such as uniqueness or an allowed value range usually require knowledge beyond a sample document.
When this tool is useful
- Prepare a selected schema format models for API responses while retaining a separate copy of the source.
- Use a small example to troubleshoot field-type and nesting assumptions and identify a representation mismatch.
- Create a selected schema format scaffolding for application code without manually rewriting every field or symbol.
Tips for a better result
- Choose the intended destination: JSON Schema, MySQL DDL, Mongoose, BigQuery, and ClickHouse do not share identical type systems or validation rules.
- Include null values, empty collections, optional fields, and several representative records when reviewing the inferred structure. Compile or validate the generated draft in the target project.
- After changing formats, compare meaningful values rather than whitespace alone. Read the a selected schema format output with its intended parser when exact types or escaping matter.
Frequently asked questions
Which schema output should I choose?
Choose the consumer: JSON Schema, a database schema, and a Mongoose model have different purposes and rules.
Are inferred fields automatically required?
A sample cannot establish requiredness. Review any generated default against the application contract.
Can samples reveal uniqueness or ranges?
Not reliably. Those constraints require domain knowledge beyond the values observed in a few records.
What happens to the information I enter?
The utility processes your input in this browser. Some tools retain field values in browser storage or the URL; avoid entering secrets in shareable fields. Page and asset requests still go to the hosting provider. Read the privacy and offline-use notes for details.
